Christian Jacobs Gallery presents
May 07, 2026 - August 02, 2026
Curated by: Monique Stubbs
In the month of May, as we honor Mental Health Awareness, we open the doors to an experience designed not to dwell in darkness—but to illuminate the journey. mindFULLness is an invitation to move through emotion with intention, to acknowledge the weight of life while choosing to be filled, restored, and renewed.
This exhibition does not ignore the realities of overwhelm, stress, or heaviness. Instead, it embraces the full spectrum of what it means to be human. Each piece within this space reflects the emotional landscapes we travel—moments of uncertainty, transitions of growth, and the quiet strength found in simply continuing forward. Here, we do not rush past these feelings; we honor them, we sit with them, and ultimately, we rise from them.
Our hope is that as you journey through this exhibition, you will feel your mind becoming FULL—full of beauty, full of possibility, full of inspiration. That you will be reminded that even in the midst of life’s challenges, there is color, there is light, there is art. We also call you to awareness beyond yourself. Look around. Pay attention.
Our youth are navigating pressures that challenge their identity and confidence. Our elders are carrying stories, transitions, and silent battles that often go unseen. Mental health does not discriminate—it touches every generation, every space, every story. Yet, so often, it remains unspoken.
Let it be a reminder that caring for our well-being is not optional—it is essential. That checking in, reaching out, and creating space for honest conversation can be life-changing. That presence—true, intentional presence—can restore more than we realize.
Through the beauty of art, we choose to embrace mindFULLness—a state where we are not empty or depleted, but aware, intentional, and filled.
And as we move from the blossoming of spring into the warmth of summer, may the mental blooms cultivated here continue to grow within you—adding to your joy, your peace, and your happiness long after you’ve exited this exhibition.
Be true. Be present. Be mind”FULL”.

Meet The Curator:
Monique Stubbs
Monique Stubbs is the proud Curator of Fine Art at The Gallery of Christian Jacobs in Gastonia, North Carolina, where she believes that through art, we can spark meaningful dialogue, strengthen community connections, and amplify creativity across the world. A native of Nassau, Bahamas, and a current resident of Charlotte, Monique grew up in a family whose love for community and the arts shaped her global perspective. From her youth, she explored museums, theatres, and live performances around the world—experiences that nurtured her passion for cultural storytelling.
Monique considers each exhibition she curates a living story—an invitation for reflection, conversation, and unity. She views her selection as curator as both an honor and a responsibility she does not take lightly, representing a fusion of Gastonia’s heritage and the visionary commitment of owners Derrick “Fly Ty” Jacobs and Jacinda Jacobs to inspire, educate, and enrich their community—values she deeply shares.
About Christian Jacobs
Founded by Flyty and Jacinda Since June 2024, we have been redefining salon experiences by merging artistic flair with professional expertise. Our talented salon owners are passionate creatives, dedicated to making beauty a work of art. Our high, pristine white walls serve as a canvas for stunning artwork, setting the stage for inspiration and innovation. Join us in celebrating beauty, creativity, and community like never before!
Our Partners
Christian Jacobs Salon Suites is a testament to the power of vision, collaboration, and community. None of this would be possible without Preston and Somer Wilson, whose expertise as multi-time salon owners and innovative thinkers has been instrumental in bringing this unique dream to life.
Their dedication helps shape a space where legacies are honored, creativity thrives, and generations are empowered. Through this partnership, Christian Jacobs Salon Suites continues to share stories, celebrate artists, and cultivate a deeper appreciation for the arts within the community.
Be a Dream Maker
We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Stolen Lunches Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in North Carolina. Their outreach initiative, Give Blessing Bags, is dedicated to feeding and resourcing our homeless brothers and sisters, empowering them to dream again.
As you experience the inspiration of our art exhibit, "The Rhythm of Movement," we invite you to join us in making a difference in our community. Your donation, in any amount, to Stolen Lunches Inc. will directly support Give Blessing Bags, ensuring that each month, the homeless are seen, loved, and uplifted with essential resources.
